CLUB NEWS

WANTED January is the second anniversary of the Mid-Downs Dog Agility Clubs web site. I feel that it is getting a bit stale with very little input from the members. As I do not participate in the sport I find it difficult to keep the content fresh and interesting. If there is someone out there who would like to have ago at running the site, now would be a good time to make the change. Interested then contact one of your committee members.

Mid-Downs October Show.
Thanks to all Judges, helpers and competitors who made the show a success despite the weather.

Congratulations
to Tricia and Hannah achieving a place in the Dogs In Need Final on Sunday.   Tricia ran Blaze and Hannah ran Woody in the Grade 3-4 Finals.  Woody is now a Grade 4 competitor having won Grade 3 Agility at Dogs in Need.

Well done to Katy who undertook her first judging appointment at Surrey DTS on Monday 25th August.  As a frequent scribe, I often hear the comments made by competitors out of earshot of the judge, and I have to say every single comment I heard was very complimentary.  Well done Katy for setting courses suitable for the competitors in her classes.
Christine Nunn.

Congratulations

KENNEL COUGH Please be on your guard it is Kennel Cough season. If you have been in contact or your dog has contracted it then please be fair and stay away from club for at lease two weeks after coughing has stopped. Beware this includes other dogs kept at home.

A WARNING message from Becca.
Kaydee was quite poorly last night, and it seems to be due to contact with lawn treatment chemicals. This time of year lawns, such as the posh ones at Kew Gardens, but also cricket pitches, gardens etc.,

Mid-Downs Team News

Club Annual Awards

Mid-Downs DAC. A Hisory from a very sketchy memory by Barrie Harvey.
In 1985 two members of the East Grinstead Dog Obedience Club decided that they wanted to have a go at the new fun dog sport called agility.  Those two people were Jock Ritson and Margaret Moore.  They gathered together a small group of people who were similarly enthusiastic and set about finding a venue.  Jock agreed to make all the equipment and to fund the cost of the materials and provide his labour free. More at about us history.
